Luke 10:27 is a church you can call home. We are a transdenominational church. We serve as a bridge between Protestant denominations and the Roman Catholic faith, embracing their strengths and seeking to find common ground. We are a missional church. Everyone is welcome at Luke!
Our Common Ground
The Apostles’ Creed, given to the Christian faith by the apostles and the early church, is the common ground between denominations. This is the doctrine that unites Luke 10:27 with one another and other churches. It holds us together.
I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth;
And in Jesus Christ his only Son, our Lord;
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, dead, and buried;*
the third day he rose from the dead;
he ascended into heaven,
and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic (i.e. universal) church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.
What is our purpose? We are a people learning to love God, one another, and self. We seek to love as Jesus loves and to live into the six streams of the Christian faith as stated in “The Six Streams”-Renovare.
- Prayer-filled life: our hearts’ steady attention to God.
- Virtuous life: responding with integrity.
- Spirit-empowered life: fueling our lives from the presence and power of God.
- Compassionate life: extending compassion in every sphere of life.
- Word-centered life: living the life-giving message of God.
- Sacramental life: encountering the invisible God in the visible world.
There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells. ~Psalm 46:4
